Abstract :
Summary form only given. In this talk, we will give an overview of how content and applications are distributed on the Internet, with an emphasis on the approaches being used by Akamai. We will describe some of the technical challenges involved in operating a distributed computing platform with thousands of servers across multiple geographies on behalf of thousands of customers. The talk will be introductory in nature and should be accessible to a broad audience.
