Abstract
Venice, the worldwide known beautiful city, relevant artistic center, lies inside a large lagoon in north-eastern Italy, and is constituted by a lot of small islands, separated by many canals; it also represents one of the most important Mediterranean harbors. The urban structure of Venice historical center is characterized by ancient buildings arising close each other, and an irregular road network with very narrow crossing streets, called Calli. Thus, this city represents quite a suitable test site to verify the potential of classification algorithms (parametric and spectral) as a function of different image spectral and spatial resolution.
