Abstract :
This paper uses the concepts of output and input coupling to provide a complete approach to design by eigenstructure assignment, by considering both the left and right eigenvectors. These concepts are illustrated by consideration of the design of a controller for a VSTOL aircraft in the transition flight regime. Results are presented for both the linear and nonlinear aircraft representations
