Abstract
We predict and confirm experimentally that, contrary to accepted models, interaction between whispering-gallery-modes of microdisks and small particles yields a double-peak response with both peaks red-shifted from initial single-disk resonance. Proposed theoretical description gives excellent quantitative agreement with experiment.
