  • Abstract
    In the design of one diesel generator unit under pulsed load, variable inertia flywheel(VIF) substitutes for traditional fixed inertia flywheel(FIF). On the basis of FIF´s successful design and test in one diesel generator unit under pulsed load, the application of VIF in diesel generator unit under pulsed load is studied deeply. The VIF´s inertia calculation method is introduced based on the coupled simulation of GT-POWER and MATLAB firstly. Compared with FIF, VIF has smaller size and better control effects. Then, the different control strategies of VIF´s inertia variety are analyzed. Finally, three types of VIF structure are designed conceptually.
