Abstract
The paper shows how off-line methods can be used where an analytical description of the system is available, such that real-time control can be achieved using very simple general purpose processors, or very fast application specific integrated circuits (ASIC´s). The method of table lookup based on fuzzy system states derived from the system characteristics has been shown to be feasible, and control of the balancing rod achieved
