Abstract
Dynamic display is a widely used approach for outputting data in computer applied systems. Although dynamic display gains an advantage in low power cost and reduced hardware, it generally proves quite difficult to employ in real-time control systems. Since up-to-date dynamic display technology is based on CPU time sharing, and the CPU has to cost a lot of time to refresh the LED, so the system efficiency decreases, especially when the number of displaying LEDs increase. This paper discusses the limitations of dynamic display and offers a new dynamic display method, which doubles the number of LEDs which can be dynamically displayed, almost without occupying CPU time, so that the efficiency of computer systems is greatly raised. There is no additional hardware requirement and the results are shown to be satisfactory
