Abstract :
SPRITE arrays based on cadmium mercury telluride (CMT) technology have been incorporated into production systems for the civilian and military market. The range of systems requirements demand a flexible SPRITE array technology whereby parameters, such as wavelength, thermal sensitivity, uniformity and MTF, can be optimised for any particular application. The authors discuss feasibility developments which aim to provide tighter element to element uniformity. In particular this has been achieved through the use of CMT material grown by epitaxial techniques
