Abstract :
A threshold segmentation algorithm based on Tsallis entropy is presented. The algorithm calculates the entropy of object and the entropy of background firstly. Then the absolute value of difference between two entropies is gained. The threshold value is corresponding to the minimum of the absolute values. Tsallis entropy has an additional parameter comparing to other entropies, but the optimal threshold can be computed automatically in our method. The additional parameter makes it process more type of image. This algorithm and other algorithms based on other entropies are experimented. The simulating result shows that this algorithm is better than other algorithms
