Abstract
Implementing the Internet protocol in highly mobile networks has been an ongoing challenge in wireless communications. Through the evolution of mobile networks, this challenge has been addressed in several ways. One of the solutions is IP tunneling and encapsulation. This paper explores the development of encapsulation and IP mobility schemes, and then proposes a system for mobile, multi-hop WiMAX (IEEE 802.16j) to provide robust Internet access during mobility.
