Abstract
In high capacity digital radio systems using high order modulation schemes the use of equalisers is widely employed to counter the effects of multipath propagation. The paper reports measurements taken on a digitally implemented transversal equaliser operating on a QAM test bed. The performance implications of a reduction in the resolution of the signal quantisation are demonstrated and the implications for logic functions outlined
