Abstract :
The aim of the present paper is the simulation of the behavior of high efficiency gas turbine power plants based on advanced cycles obtained with regenerator, intercooler, economizer, steam or water injection. A computer code has been developed in order to find the steady and the unsteady performance of the plant. A zero dimensional approximation is used to calculate the unsteady performance of the components of the plant. Only the heat exchangers are considered one-dimensional. The mathematical model describing the working conditions of the plant devices is presented. The numerical methodologies to solve the nonlinear governing equations and the differential ones are also described. A simple rotor speed control model operating on the fuel mass flow has been considered. Two different transient cases, in which a sudden reduction of the electric power is supposed, have been analysed
