Abstract :
In this paper, we report an analysis of the effects of dynamic pressure, a constant thermal loading, and axial strain on microbending loss. When an external dynamic pressure is applied on a fiber, with the elapse of time, the resulting lateral pressure exerted on the fiber causes its structure to experience expansion and contraction under parametric changes of coating layers. It is shown when the pressure has a tensile form, at some given time, the microbending loss of the fiber attain negative value, which practically results in no loss in the transmissions
