Abstract
Principal features of the sweeping of the radiation frequency of quantum-well heterostructure laser diodes with a controllable single mode emission are investigated in detail. Numerical simulation is performed in the framework of the model of direct transitions between electron and hole subbands in the quantum well. The description is applicable to laser diodes based on the III-V semiconductor compounds in the active region and which emit at the near-infrared range
