Abstract :
In this paper we model and design detection filters which are used for fault detection of sensors and actuators in a class of nonlinear systems. The filters are developed for systems with Lipschitz nonlinearities. Application of the detection filter methodology to the automated highway system (AHS) is presented. In particular we detect and identify fault modes in sensors and actuators used for the combined lateral and longitudinal vehicle model of the AHS
