Abstract
For the successful implementation of microcellular systems it is essential that planning tools are available which can accurately predict the service coverage provided from a potential base site. This obviously relies on a fundamental understanding of the signal propagation mechanism and the resulting channel characteristics. Some measurements and initial theory which help to provide an insight into the propagation mechanisms and characteristics which are to be found in a narrowband microcellular based system are presented
