Abstract
An automatic position and control (APAC) system is being developed using hyperbolic radio position location methods. The system provides near real time three dimensional position information within a local area for navigation and control use. The system has applications in construction automation, autonomous guided vehicle control, industrial safety, automatic vehicle location in metropolitan areas, and the cellular telephone network. Computer simulations have been developed which permit evaluation of the system´s performance under various operating conditions
