Abstract :
Palmprint is one of the most reliable features in personal identification because of its stability and uniqueness. This paper proposed a new hierarchical palmprint recognition method. Firstly, a probability distribution template of major line is generated. Then dual tree complex wavelet is applied onto palmprint image to obtain texture feature. A hierarchical matching strategy is suggested which uses above two level features for recognition. Experimental results show that the two features complement each other well and the hierarchical method can improve recognition accuracy significantly.
