This paper analyses appraisal index of students´ practical ability in university art design. It detects that the existing system has some shortcomings, and fails to reflect students´ practical ability in art design. Adopting investigation, statistic analysis, this paper establishes the suitable index for students in art design. The conclusion is that establishing the innovation appraisal system of combination of art teaching and practice. It implements the teaching management mode of studio system.
