Abstract :
Describes a new systolic architecture for linear quadratic optimal control. This is based on a square root algorithm requiring an orthogonal transformation to update the control gain matrix. The triangular systolic array uses O(n2/2) processing cells to reduce the iteration time from O(n3) to O(n), where n is the number of state variables, and offers the potential for real-time application
