Abstract
A major national health concern is the rapidly increasing incidence of obesity among people of all ages. Overweight conditions are associated with a wide variety of health problems, and costs associated with dealing with this issue are expected to be very high. Obesity offers opportunities for novel engineering approaches to deal with the diagnosis and treatment of the basic condition and related disorders. This presentation will cover health care needs and research opportunities related to obesity and overweight conditions.
