Process improvement and process reengineering are the two modes of business process change. This paper compares the similarities and differences as well as the respective applicable scopes of the two modes of business process change, and puts forward the core ideas of sustainable innovation of business process. For the sake of building continuous competitive advantages, we must combine the two modes and develop towards the sustainable innovation of business process according to the changes of market competitive environment.
