Abstract :
Concerns the control of traffic on the Grand Boulevard linking Lille, Roubaix and Tourcoing in France. First, where it is not a dual carriageway, a low wall was built in the middle of the road. Then, the TELESIC system was introduced. It has five functions: surveillance and traffic movement reporting in real time; provision of information on congestion; traffic light control, to ease congestion; incident detection; and speed checking
