Abstract :
The D1 and D2 digital video formats allow for the recording of four high quality PCM digital audio channels. To fully realise the benefit of these channels during video editing, a method for digital routing, processing and mixing of the audio is required which is suitable for the specific environment of a DVTR suite. An overview of the system requirements is detailed and one approach, in the form of a video editor-controlled digital audio mixing console, is outlined
