Abstract
The principle and characteristics of laser active imaging system and factors affecting the detection range are introduced. The laser active imaging model and ICCD detector performance and sensitivity index conversion is analyzed. The formula of detection range and the distance estimation method for incident irradiance, which must be greater than 2 times detector´s irradiance sensitivity, are established. Laser active imaging experiment conducted with 808nm laser proves the validity of the theoretical analysis.
