Bush, D. ; Sakai, M. ; Maruyama, Y. ; Lagadec, R. ; Walstra, D.
Abstract :
DAT (digital audio tape), although of consumer origin, has from the beginning offered potential advantages in professional applications. The authors describe how DAT has been improved to accommodate the recording of timecode. They also look at the many broadcast tasks which are today covered by analogue 1/4" recording and describe a newly introduced line up of professional DAT recorders allowing similar and novel applications in audio for video, electronic editing and automation
