Abstract :
An automated polarization controller is a necessary device for the measurement of several kinds of parameters on the optical fiber metrology field. Here we present the development of a fully automated polarization controller based on induced stress on optical fiber through voltage activated piezoelectric elements. Reproducibility of the piezo´s driver is tested and the APC polarization transformation is analyzed with a polarimeter. An application of the device as a polarization scrambler is also presented.
