Abstract
Based on the transmission line model and mode conversion theory, this paper discusses unwanted noise coupling between two signal lines that cross the same ground slot. It is also demonstrated how some physical parameters affect the coupling performance of the pair of signal lines. Design rules for choosing proper parameters for isolated ground islands in a mixed-signal environment are also discussed.
