Abstract :
Radio frequency identification (RFID) middleware is important for sharing of RFID data from one or more readers among one or more enterprise applications that request for it. This paper presents a system and method for implementing event cycle and device control in a RFID middleware and shows how it can be flexibly configured to support a diversity of enterprise applications. A key contribution from this paper is the concept of decoupling event cycle control from device control and decoupling individual device controls in order to be responsive and flexible in mapping one or more devices to one or more event cycles.
