Abstract :
Vehicle-logo location is an essential part of vehicle-logo recognition system. In this paper, a new method of vehicle-logo location is proposed. Firstly, the approximate region of vehicle-logo is obtained through the position of vehicle-plate. Then, we judge the texture of vehicle-logo background either horizontal or vertical with the edge detection and projection approach. Finally, with the known texture, position of the vehicle-logo can be located correctly by morphological filter and projection information. Experimental results demonstrate the proposed method is effective.
