Abstract :
In many works on expert systems and decision support systems, it is agreed that the activity of knowledge elicitation is a crucial point in their development. In practice, people are often faced by the problems of making decisions taking into account a number of criteria, i.e. multicriteria decision-making methods. Recent years have been witnessing an increasing number of psychological research projects indicating the complexity of receiving from human beings, reliable, non-contradictory information. This leads to two problems which it is necessary to take into account while designing decision support systems and expert systems. The systems being designed should be able to check the elicited information (knowledge) for inconsistencies and they should have procedures of eliciting this information which are based on psychological data about human possibility to give reliable information in this form. The authors give a description of a system providing support in classification tasks in which they tried to meet these requirements
