Abstract
DLNA (digital living network alliance) enabled devices allow users to enjoy distributed content anywhere in the home without requiring user configuration. However, currently DLNA usage is restricted to the home domain. The solution proposed in this paper expands DLNA usage to IPTV (IP Television) services provided by Telco operators. User experience is enhanced because all content, no matter whether it is an IPTV provided TV channel or a video on demand (VoD), or a content residing in the home, is integrated into a single application and can be accessed from any DLNA device. Furthermore, we have evaluated the proposed solution building a test bed including DLNA media players that can be bought at stores.
