Abstract :
We present a Kretschmann prism coupled Surface Plasmon Resonance sensor based on wavelength and angle combined modulation. Surface plasmon excitation is achieved by a SM fiber 50 nm broadband light source. Surface Plasmon Resonance spectra read from fiber-optic spectrometer are acquired by choosing three different incident angles in the Surface Plasmon Resonance experiments at room temperature. We find that experimental resonance wavelength decreases with the increasing incident angle which agrees with the theoretical results. Surface Plasmon Resonance sensor based on wavelength and angle combined modulation is a new kind of sensor which can not only enlarge measuring range effectively by changing incident angle with the same broadband light source, but also detect more samples. This type of Surface Plasmon Resonance sensor will have various applications in the future.
