Abstract
Torque vector control strategies on two different types of permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM) are investigated, and the performance of a medium power (13 kW) highly responsive surface mount magnet PMSM is practically evaluated. The machine is fed by a developed oversized 30 kVA current hysteresis-controlled voltage source inverter. The dynamics of the drive are simulated and compared to its performance under operating conditions
