Abstract :
Nowadays, with the rapid advance of network and computer technology, sharing and integration of across-field, across-organization government information resources to improve the quality of government service and management is urgently needed in the informatization of e-government in China. As the information resources are enormous, various and heterogeneous, it becomes increasingly important to provide a scalable infrastructure for enabling information sharing service to support information publication, discovery, download and display in e-government. In this paper, we build on the technologies of Web service, peer-to-peer and XML to design the architecture of e-government information sharing system (EGIS), which has been implemented in project InfoXP (information exchange and sharing platform in Heilongjiang province of China), in an attempt to address reliability, efficiency, scalability, conveniency and security requirements. More materially, we consider three core issues based on it: metadata catalog service, dynamic registration and update mechanism, resource discovery mechanism
