    AC inverters are being used increasingly in place of traditional methods of electric motor speed control. Whilst they have several advantages, they can cause users serious problems if certain precautions are ignored. The author deals with pumps used in the water industry for use with clean water and sewage. The problems discussed have generally been discovered and overcome by practical experience
