Abstract :
The control of DC and AC drives by a microprocessor is state of the art and a high degree of sophistication, aiming at the best possible dynamic control performance has been realized. A communication system is presented for interfacing the drive to the microprocessor. An enhanced terminal program offers window techniques and an almost unlimited number of messages. Highlighting and colors are supported. A suitable operational interface can be easily created with the described programs. Development work is strongly supported by several tools and utilities. During commissioning and trouble shooting the operator is guided by detailed messages
