Abstract
This paper discusses the NPnP (Network Plug and Play) component that offers a bridging technique for UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) and Bluetooth in the wearable computing environment. The wearable computing environment is restricted in computing resources and processing capability because this environment consists of various wireless devices for different services. Consequently, a new lightweight middleware technique is needed to control these. As an agent component bridging wireless devices and comprising the wearable computing environment in the UPnP network, the NPnP component is one of the essential components of the wearable middleware framework introduced in this paper. As an introduction, this paper discusses the NPnP components for Bluetooth from among several wireless devices.
