Abstract :
Overhead line power systems are by their very nature extremely susceptible to transient faults. To reduce system interruption to a minimum, intelligent devices such as auto reclosers are used to clear these faults and maintain supply to healthy sections of network. The relay described is designed for use with the PMR range of auto reclosers produced by Brush Switchgear Limited. The aim is to produce a new generation of auto reclose relays which is ideally suited for application to overhead line system control and automation
