Abstract :
Rights expression language in digital library scenario is described as rights management metadata, which are becoming a significant impetus for the development of digital libraries. However, the research on it just starts and is still immature in China. This paper aims to fill up the gap by discussing the issues of localizing MPEG-21 REL into Chinese language. A well-established and notable model called HowNet is adopted for semantic mapping, and a case example is created to demonstrate the application of the Chinese REL.
