Abstract :
Applying DSP techniques to video system measurements offers a number of distinct advantages. One key advantage is that most measurements can be automated, allowing a button to be pushed for direct display or logging of measurement results. Another key advantage is that a wide range of measurement procedures can be condensed to DSP algorithms and integrated into a single instrument. The author looks at: video signal acquisition; measurements automation; noise spectrum measurement; intermodulation distortion (IMD) measurement; and chrominance AM/PM noise measurement
