Abstract :
The authors briefly discuss the problems faced by London Electricity Board in relation to cash collection and debt problems connected with coin operated meters. The LEB decided to adopt key budget metering. The key is a two-way programmable device making it possible to credit the meter and to communicate information from the meter to the LEB.
