Abstract :
Digital libraries and e-learning systems are important enabling technologies for the knowledge supply chain in the digital age. Therefore, this paper addresses the meaning of “e-learning”, the functionality of the digital library; and finally how e-learning resources are included and organized in the digital library. This paper also aims to examine and discuss the crucial roles libraries play in e-learning; the challenges and opportunities facing the e-learning program and the library´s involvement. Then the authors propose a model for implementing e-learning through DLs according to knowledge management process. The proposed model would contribute to the advancement of academic debate in both the areas of DL and E-learning.
