Abstract :
In 3G-324M protocol proposed for the real time video telephony communication in wireless environments, when video and audio frames are transferred, transmission delay can be occurred if the size of internal buffer increases. The size of internal buffer can be efficiently controlled if efficient communication scheduling is possible. In this paper, we propose an efficient communication scheduling algorithm based on the contents of the video frame. The proposed algorithm is based on the fact that the size of I-frames varies by the type of the video frame, so when we transmit data, we increase the execution rate of multiplex protocol according to the type of video frame. By this, we prevent transfer delay from being augmented and the size of internal buffer being increased. Furthermore, it is also possible to avoid CODEC buffer underflow problem, although there are many segmented frame data in the receiving buffer.
