Abstract
Draft of Local Wireless Mesh Networks Standard (IEEE 802.11s) has specified HWMP Protocol as the default route selection protocol in data link layer and this protocol may select the route in two reactive and proactive modes. In this paper, LAHWMP protocol which uses learning automata to find suitable routes for sending data in the reactive mode has been proposed. This protocol using NS2 simulator is simulated and the obtained results are compared with reactive and proactive modes of HWMP protocol. These results show that the proposed protocol increases network´s overall performance compared to other protocols.
