Abstract :
This paper explores the electronic health record (EHR) implementation process as well as application and utilization impact within two selected healthcare institutions in Malaysia using a case study approach. Data were collected through observations and a series of interviews with the hospitals´ IT administrators and health practitioners. The results are presented in the form of descriptive analysis of the EHR scenario in these two organizations. Analyses are also given by comparing between the two institutions and identifying the common processes and related issues.
