Abstract
A system, based on the techniques outlined, has been implemented for the IBM PC-AT with a PGA graphics system and for the PS/2 model 80 using a model 8514 colour display. Additionally, the system permits the user to enhance overlapping areas of the image to different levels of resolution and the necessary enhancements to the techniques which allow this capability are described. Initial studies have indicated that around 6% of the total information in an image is sufficient to make identification possible, at which stage the image may either be rejected or the resolution selectively enhanced
