Abstract
The zero-output commutation strategy of matrix converter is proposed in the paper which realizes the control for matrix converter using one positive voltage, one negative voltage and one zero-voltage. The local averaged values in duty time of output line voltages are sinusoidal; the voltage gain gets to the maximal value in theory; if the source voltages are asymmetrical and/or contain harmonics, the control functions will be modified automatically to adapt to the input voltages. The paper analyzes in detail the synthetical method and the voltage gain as well as the switch commutation sequence of matrix converter based on the strategy presented in the paper. Last, the validity of the conclusions is demonstrated by a simulation
