Abstract :
The application of a new complementary gating scheme for the full bridge DC-to-DC PWM converter is proposed. The proposed gating scheme results in different types of transitions and only one ZVT circuit is required to achieve ZVS for all the switches for a wide variation in the load current. Detailed operation and analysis of the converter using equivalent circuits is presented. Design procedure is illustrated using a 500 W DC-to-DC converter example. PSPICE simulation and experimental results are presented for the designed converter to verify the theory.
