Abstract :
The development of automated and robotic systems to support the rehabilitation of the lower limbs presents a number of challenges to the systems designers, including those of working with and interpreting the requirements of individuals with different backgrounds. The paper discusses the design of one such system and considers how it has evolved to meet a range of requirements as well as how decisions made, influenced the developed prototype system
